About Us

<Dyslexics Untie> is an Alliance guild on the Saurfang realm. We are dedicated to PvE Raid progression. End of story. As such, every decision we make as a guild - from nightly activity, to raid composition, to loot distribution - is devoted to that end. If conquering raid content, and putting forth the effort and work it takes to do so in a TEAM-ENVIRONMENT, isn't your motivation in WoW, this isn't the place for you.

Our focus being raid progression, you can expect team-chemistry to be important to us. What that means to you is don't bring drama. If you're the best player WoW has ever seen and you can't cooperate with our raid team, you're NO good to us. That doesn't mean kiss our ass. It means be a team player.

We provide an environment in which serious, progression-minded players have the opportunity to progress in the "End Game" of WoW. Said environment is composed of 35-ish competitive gamers, with an average guild-age of roughly 30 years old. That being the case, you can expect harsh criticism. At the end of the day, however, we're all about beating the biggest and baddest shit WoW has to offer, so you can expect us to get real serious, real fast.

Loot

Loot distribution system is TBA at this point in time as we evaluate ways to improve it in Wrath of the Lich King.

Raid Times

Our raid times are 7:30pm until 10:30pm server time ADST Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, with Friday and Saturday night raids off nights to have a beer. We expect everyone to be ready to raid by 7:15 PM.

Expectations
• Above and beyond, you must be able to perform in situations where others are counting on you to do your job, while maintaining a "can-do" attitude in the face of criticism and wipes.
• You must know your class inside and out, and showcase that knowledge via performance. We use SWStats, Grim reaper and Big brother, and yes we review that information. We look at skill detail, we look at spell selection, we look at how much damage and healing you do, we notice when you die to stupid shit, and we notice when you excel.
• Having extensive raid experience is pretty much mandatory unless stated otherwise. Believe it or not, but the dynamics of play shift from Hellfire Ramparts to Black Temple. It's an old zone at this point, but Naxxramas experience is good to have as well. Tell us if you've been there and what you did.
• Experience being essential, so is raid-worthy gear. Omitting the Armory link in the application will not protect you from our insidious and dastardly inspection skills. If you cannot step in and perform right away, you cannot help us achieve our goals. Gear also displays the commitment you have to being prepared and to playing your class to its utmost. This also being said, with the release of the new expansion we cannot expect your gear to be of a supreme standard, but we like to see that you are making an effort with your gear, ie correct gemming, enchants etc.
• You must be responsible enough to STUDY encounters! With that said, come prepared for raids with whatever consumables and knowledge you'll need to enhance your performance. This means you have two options (and we highly suggest you use both):

1.) Use members in the guild itself to give you an understanding of what your class roles are in each encounter, and what is expected performance-wise out of you. Do NOT hesitate to ask questions! This shows you have a desire to improve your performance and also the ability to learn these encounters. Each member is here for you to utilize to help improve your performance as a recruit.

2.) Writeups of mobs and their abilities can be found in many places. Utilize them.

Ultimately you'll need a conceptual understanding of monster and boss abilities, as opposed to memorisation of button pushes from "Guitar Hero".
• Along with preparation, it goes without saying you should have 100% gear durability before raids start.
• You should be vocal! Don't hesitate to ask questions, and don't hesitate to give suggestions. We want active members who contribute to the community. You should never be afraid to tell us what's on your mind, or to share information you stumble upon.
• You must be seeking a long-term home in which to invest your time and energy. Loot whores, drama magnets, guild hoppers, and Tools expecting guarantees of any kind need not apply.
• Recruits are also expected to maintain 80%+ raid attendance, and members are expected to have a comparably high attendance rate as well. Do not apply if you are leaving for vacation in 4 days, for example. Although we do have places in the guild for Casual raiders under special circumstances.
• A mature attitude is required. If you cry about loot, whine about sitting, act like a 13year old or otherwise fail at being a mature team player than this is not the guild for you, no matter how skilled. We are a team oriented guild and everyone must be able to put the guild first.
Be very careful and precise, especially when filling out your previous guild history. We have ways of discovering your undocumented ass-hattery. Your goal is to convince us that you are a risk worth taking. A recruit is an investment into <Dyslexics Untie>’s future.

Initiate phases for accepted applicants usually last 4 weeks. At the end of that time we will review your application and either reject you or promote you to Raid Team. This is not a family oriented guild nor a casual raiding guild. Each recruit and member is expected to push the guild as a whole into every encounter in this game. If you do not feel you can meet or exceed these requirements please do not bother posting an application.

If you have any questions about the application process or the guild itself feel free to contact the Guild Master Vakh, or another DU officer.

WE WILL NOT give you hour-by-hour, day-by-day, or even year-by year updates on your application, nor will we explain or divulge anything regarding our recruitment procedures. If you can't or won't understand and accept this, you may consider your application denied.

DO NOT waste our time. If you bitch and moan when you don't get internet purplez, don't get played on a raid, and are notified when you demonstrate a lack of class knowledge and inability to do your job in a competitive raiding environment, do not apply.

DO NOT harass any <Dyslexics Untie> officers regarding information about your application. An application on these forums does not guarantee we will guild invite you as a recruit.

If you have read the above and are sure <Dyslexics Untie> is the right guild for you, post an app.

At the end of the day we are here for fun and progression, and the above may seem harsh but with discipline comes phat loot and progression.
